HEATHDALE GLEN ORDEN WETLANDS PLAYGROUND (KOOKABURRA AVE)

Public BBQ

Tucked away in Werribee's wetlands, this barbecue spot occupies a surprisingly peaceful corner where nature meets suburban practicality. The setting beside Glen Orden Wetlands lends an unexpectedly serene backdrop to what might otherwise be just another neighbourhood park. Families spread across the grassy expanse find themselves with that rarest of suburban luxuries: genuine elbow room. The adjacent sports oval stretches endlessly, perfect for energetic kids to burn off post-barbecue enthusiasm while parents linger over the last of their drinks. The playground equipment, though unremarkable, does its job admirably enough. What elevates this spot is its wetlands proximity, there's something rather lovely about the distant sounds of birdlife mixing with children's laughter and the gentle sizzle of weekend barbies.
